Aircraft for Sale

Piston singles to turbines — buy and sell direct, pilot to pilot.

Welcome to the aircraft listings. Whether you're hunting for your first 172 or comparing King Air 350s, every airplane here is posted by a seller who cares enough to describe it honestly. You'll find Cessnas, Pipers, Beechcraft, Cirrus, Mooneys, Bonanzas, Barons, twin Cessnas, turboprops, light and midsize jets, helicopters, warbirds, and a healthy mix of experimentals and light-sport aircraft.

FlyClassifieds was built by an aviator for aviators, which means the listings are structured around what actually matters when you're evaluating an airplane: total time, SMOH, equipment, damage history, and airworthiness status. Where an N-number is provided we cross-reference the FAA Aircraft Registry and NTSB incident database so you can see the real picture — not just a sunny photo at golden hour.

If you're a seller, you control the listing. If you're a buyer, you deal directly with the owner or dealer without a broker clipping the ticket. That's the whole point.

What to look for when buying an aircraft

Start with the logbooks. A complete and legible logbook history usually tells you more about an airplane than any photo set. Look for continuity: annual inspections every twelve calendar months, AD compliance, 100-hours if the airplane was ever on a rental line, and any 337s documenting major alterations.

Engine condition is where deals are won or lost. TTAF tells you about the airframe, but SMOH, SPOH, and SFRM (since factory reman) tell you about the money you may spend in the next twelve months. A mid-time engine with excellent compressions, clean oil analysis, and a borescope report is often a better buy than a fresh overhaul with an unknown shop history.

Always get a pre-buy inspection done by a shop that did not maintain the aircraft. It's the single highest-ROI thing you can do before writing a check. Budget a day or two of travel and a few thousand dollars — it is not optional.

Finally, verify the registration and airworthiness certificate status before you travel to see the airplane. Every U.S.-registered aircraft listed here can be looked up on the FAA website by N-number. Canadian aircraft are searchable through Transport Canada's CCAR registry.

Frequently asked questions

Can I list my aircraft for free?

Yes — the free Hangar Find package runs for 30 days with one photo, perfect for a quick sale. Standard listings are a flat $29 and run for 90 days with 15 photos and a video. Premium is $89 and runs for 365 days with 50 photos, a featured scrolling placement, top-of-category positioning, and a social media post. We don't charge commission and we don't take a cut of the sale.

Is the FAA registry data on listings accurate?

When a seller provides an N-number we pull the current registration record from the FAA Aircraft Registry and cross-check NTSB incident data. Data is only as current as the FAA's last export, so always verify critical details directly with the FAA or the seller before closing.

Do you support Canadian-registered aircraft?

Yes. We integrate Transport Canada's Canadian Civil Aircraft Register so C-registered aircraft can auto-populate basic airframe details when the seller enters the registration mark.

What's the difference between TTAF, SMOH, and SFRM?

TTAF is total time on the airframe. SMOH is hours since the last major engine overhaul. SFRM is hours since factory remanufacture — a factory reman generally carries stronger documentation and a zero-time logbook than a field overhaul.

Should I get a pre-buy inspection?

Always. Use a shop that has no prior relationship with the airplane or seller. A typical pre-buy runs a few hours to a full day of labor plus any fluid analysis and borescope work, and it's the cheapest insurance in aviation.
